Malawi Tea Promotion Seminar At Iruma Tea Museum

On February 20, 2010, a Malawi Tea Promotion Seminar was held at Iruma Tea Museum. We are grateful for the many people who came out and joined us for delicious tea and conversation. Below are some photos from the event.

After a welcome tea, the Master of Ceremonies Ms. Yuko Asai; Mr Kazuo Kurosawa of Iruma City Museum; and Mr. Hajime Shimizu the Senior Managing Director of Japan Tea Association made welcomed remarks.

Mrs. Grace Karonga, First Secretary, showed participants how to wear Chitenje.

A beginner’s lesson in Chichewa Mrs. Karonga also gave a beginner's lesson in Chichewa. Those in attendance learned how to say such things as “ndikufuna tiyi wa mkaka” (I want milk tea)

Ms. Kimiko Tanaka, Senior Tea Instructor of the Japan Tea Association, explained how to make a good cup of tea, presenting the seminar with various hot and cold recipes. Ms. Kimiko Tanaka explaining how to make a good cup of tea.

Participants won prizes for answering quiz questions correctly. A quiz was held at the end of the seminar. Those that answered questions correctly won prizes!
